local entrepreneur Kyler Smith has been working on a new concept in downtown Cleveland’s Warehouse District: Filter, a restaurant and bar, which takes over the former Take 5 Rhythm & Jazz space at 740 W. Superior Ave.

“I’m going for a high-end look, without the high-end prices,” Smith said. “The menu is filled with a little bit of everything.”

The new concept connects to another aspect of Smith’s life: his DJ work. Smith, aka DJ KY, performs at clubs and venues around Cleveland regularly, and has hosted urban hip-hop shows on Z107.9 and Radio One.

Martini Construction has Joined Smith on this endeavor downtown.  Martini Construction has built 3 of Kyler's The Sauce Restaurants.  JP martini is thrilled to be associated with this project, and can't wait to get the doors open.
It’s going to be pretty big for hospitality in Cleveland, Ohio,” Smith said in a phone interview with cleveland.com. “We’re getting that out-of-town, L.A., Miami type of vibe to the restaurant, is what people should expect.”
